The CTAO Central Organisation is seeking a Junior IT Support and Modern Workplace Assistant to provide technical support and workplace technology solutions to a rapidly growing workforce tasked with building the world’s largest and most powerful gamma-ray observatory.
Your key responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, both in person and remotely, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment such as computers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls using Active Directory.
- Support the deployment and administration of Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based applications.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation of technical processes and solutions.
- Assist with the implementation and support of modern workplace technologies, including collaboration tools and remote work solutions.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing technical input and support as needed.
Your skills and qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or similar certifications are plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
- Demonstrable commitment to learning and development, such as participation in relevant courses, certifications, or other educational activities.
- Good understanding of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- At ease with supporting both Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud offering and its various applications.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Authentication Protocols, PowerShell
- Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, SFTP, RDP, email protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
